AG likes to lift. He does back and front squats, and lunges on his "light" day. Now he's doing 5x5 at 80% and up. He's hoping to go over 18m with the weight, which could translate to an awesome outdoor mark.

JG also aspires to get to IHSA 2A State Champs in both shot and disc. Recently he's been talking about making IL Top Times. Threw 13.50m this morning, not his best. Periodic 14.50s and higher in practice.

New to HUSA this year, JG is amenable to taking a few weight throws. He's a shot disc kid from Marmion Academy. Doing well also at 14.65m best throw.

AG is throwing well. First practice indoor meet this morning. Hit 16.85 on his best three-turn.

Each time AG throws on the slick warehouse floor, he's preparing both his rhythm and footwork for basically all slippery rings, wet or dry. Most of his throws were about 52-53ft; however, one or two went over 55ft. Practice meet this Sat.

Tonight, great throws in 43 and windy.. Practice PR's. My SR threw 17.20 in the 25lb, but was slipping in his zooms. My JR star threw the weight just under 17 and was nursing a strain. Another JR, inspired by a Tom Walsh vid, was over 45ft, one at 48ft.

An impromptu practice meet for my throwers will take place this Saturday at 10AM. I'm a bit nervous about how they will perform. Oddly enough, the cold fall weather seems to have reset their brains and psychology. I guess it takes weeks, not days to adapt.

This young lady is feeling the fall cold and wind. Thank goodness for sunny days.

They also found their hammers easily. Don't worry, we're very safe. It's lighter than it looks.

JG is trying to master his shot in the hammer ring. It works, but facilities are limited. Great weather. 1 hr later: darkness. We adapt.

Great weather coming! Guys are ready to throw hammer and discus. But 38F is a little tough. It didn't stop them. Great sunsets and now, What? The Northern Lights too!

JG tries a max at 185 for two reps. Note how he yanks the weight from the floor instead of rising with it. Get it?

AS is still learning to wind lthe hammer in her lessons. For some reason, using a ball in a bag is helping.

BA is just learning to turn. Like most, is having trouble extending his arms.
