I have a smartwatch. Periodically, I will get a message on it that simply says, “Breathe.” It’s reminding me of something that I should never take for granted. Every day is a gift. Every single heartbeat and every breath you take is a blessing.

The Star Wars series is a fairy tale But the reason it resonates with us is because it reminds us of a greater story. And deep down inside we know that story — the story of the Son of God defeating Satan and death itself at the cross and resurrection — is true.

Christmas means we never have to be alone again. Because of Immanuel- Jesus is there with us. God makes this amazing promise to us- “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. (Isaiah 43:2 NLT)

It is not Christmas that will bring you fulfillment. It’s Christ. He will give you life, and that more abundantly.

One of the best definitions of being a Christian is a “long obedience in the same direction.” It’s just putting one foot in front of the other and walking with the Lord. That’s because our objective as Christians is to walk with God and live by faith. Are you walking with God?

I think sometimes we come to church and want to have a ‘breakthrough moment’. We think we need an emotional touch. No, we don’t. We just need to worship God whether we feel like it or not. We need to understand that the Christian life is a walk of faith, not feeling.

Do people know you for your faith? If someone polled people you work with and live near and asked them if you were a Christian, would they say yes? Would there be no question about it? If someone arrested you for being a Christian, would they find enough evidence to convict you?

Psalms 100:4-5 (ESV): "Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations." May you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Everyday should be Thanksgiving for the Christian (Minus the turkey :) This is about giving thanks because God is good. It’s about giving thanks because God is in control of your life. Give thanks because He’s in control of all circumstances surrounding your life.

We should pray and intercede for others. We should stand in the gap for them. If only we would spend as much time talking to God about others as we spend time gossiping about them."

As Christians, we can have times of depression We also have times when we’re sad, but it doesn’t mean our faith is gone, and it doesn’t mean that we’re failures as believers. It means that we’re hopelessly human and we constantly need Christ.

Remembering 9/11 eighteen years ago and the losses and sacrifices of so many. Thank you, Lord, for those today who stand in harm's way to help keep us safe!

There’s a sign posted at the end of an airport runway that reads, “Keep moving. If you stop, you are in danger and a danger to those who are flying.” You can apply that to the Christian life. Keep moving. Don’t give up. Don’t abandon hope. You’re going to get through your valley

A very Happy Birthday to the United States of America! Oh yes, we have our flaws, but God has blessed this country of ours, and as the song says, “I’m proud to be an American!” Have a great 4th of July and God bless you all. . . and God Bless America!

We can’t control our universe, as hard as we may try, but we certainly can pray about it. The next time you’re tempted to worry, pray instead. Turn your worries into prayers.

Some people are doing the work of God while others are standing on the sidelines and critiquing those who are doing the work of God. Are you a faith builder, or are you a faith breaker? It really comes down to one of the two. Be a faith builder today!
