As PM Modi meets President Xi, the Galwan hero Sep Gurtej Singh’s native village is in fear due to the rising water levels of Ghaggar river. The village Birewala Dogran was badly flooded due to breach in Ghaggar river during the 2023 #PunjabFloods.
Gurtej Singh of 3rd Punjab’s ‘Ghatak Platoon’ got VIR CHAKRA on 26th January 2021 for his heroics at Galwan valley. His father Virsa Singh is a marginal farmer with two and a half acres of land and was at #SinghuBorder in Delhi 2 weeks back as part of #FarmersProtest

It’s very heartening to see congregation of Baba Sukha Singh Sarhali Sahib leading the relief work during #PunjabFloods. Known for plugging huge Sutlej breaches in 2023 floods, it also runs few schools/colleges and manages many Gurduaras outside Punjab including in Bangladesh.

Mahan Kosh’s first edition (4 volumes) was printed in the Sudarshan Press of legendary Punjabi poet Lala Dhani Ram Chatrik. It’s tragic to see how Bhai Kahan Singh’s magnum opus is being (mis)printed and treated in our so-called esteemed institution Punjabi University Patiala.
Mahan Kosh, an encyclopaedia of Sikh literature and a dictionary of Punjabi language, is a monumental work by Sikh scholar Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha. His dedication of 14 years in its compilation was helped by the Maharajas of Faridkot, Nabha and Patiala.
