Pretty remarkable story. Two Mallee boys who grew up 30 miles apart but never knew each other. Met over in France and became mates, sadly Hogan didn't come home but Kelly returned his diary to his grieving family and went on to marry Hogan's sister. Austy Coffey's G'father!
It was an emotional win for Savvy Acquistion owner, Andrew Kelly on Jericho Cup Day. His Grandfather and Great-Uncle served in WWI. Both men hailed from the country Victoria and sadly only one returned. You can read their story below. #CountryRacing
