When we have weather-related cancellations we have a team of people, led by our caretakers and custodians, and supported by operations staff, who check on our schools and ready them for reopening. A big thank you for all that you do!

Wow! More than 120,000 reusable masks are sorted, packaged & ready to be delivered to HRCE schools next week. Students & staff members will each receive two cloth masks upon return to school.
When the power is out, people may have difficulty getting info re: school cancellations. We will use Twitter, local media, our website & info line (902-464-INFO) to get the msg out. We will also use the text/email notification system if possible.
All public schools in NS will remain closed for two weeks following March Break (weeks of March 23 and March 30) and then will be reassessed. More details to follow.

Feb. 13, 2020 - HRCE schools will be implementing the early dismissal plan today due to the forecast. Bussed students will be picked up 2 hours earlier than their regular dismissal time and walking students will be dismissed at their regularly scheduled lunch hour

All HRCE schools are open today (Dec. 17/20). Forecast shows flurries beginning around noon and by 5pm up to 4cm of snow in western HRM. Inland and eastern HRM forecasted to receive less snow. Take your time. Stay alert. Arrive safe.
