Dr. Mount created Canada’s first palliative care unit at the Royal Vic, and coined the term palliative, establishing it world wide, to mean care for people with life-limiting illnesses. The HPCO team extends our deepest condolences to Dr. Mount’s family.

We are deeply saddened at the death of Dr. Bal Mount, founder of palliative care at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.

The team at HPCO was sad to learn of the death of MPP Jim Bradley today. Mr. Bradley was a long-time champion of hospice care and he will be missed.
