One of our main priorities is keeping prisoners in touch with their families and this week we held our first two day family event of 2024. It was great seeing the families smiling and laughing, taking part in a range of activities and visits from @CritterishUK. #SercoAndProud

The 7th February was a proud day for us at HMP Dovegate and @RestartDogs. Both Emily and Luther moved on to new adventures and on the next leg of their journeys as assistance dogs, making lives better, helping veterans. Both will be missed by the prisoners and fosterers involved.

HMP Dovegate are incredibly proud of 2023’s Koestler Arts results with an outstanding total of 59 awards. Every year, we look forward to seeing the art work the prisoners in our care create and we are already preparing for 2024! #SercoAndProud

Staff from HMP Dovegate have volunteered to support the the TV show @DIYSOS in a big build for @BBCCiN at @treetopshospice. We are beyond proud and feel very fortunate to support a project so fantastic and look forward to seeing the end result. #SercoAndProud

Recently, 2 of our Dog Handlers and 1 PCO visited @1122sqn to talk about careers within the Prison Service. As well as learning about the careers available at HMP Dovegate, they got to meet PDD Merlin, try on our PPE and experience mini demonstrations. #SercoAndProud

Our Family Support Team have worked tirelessly in creating a fun, relaxed environment for prisoners and families to enjoy visits during the summer. Activities consisted of games, crafts and more! Family ties are important to us and these events simply make everyone smile.

Whilst completing a Degree Apprenticeship, Rebecca has used what she has learnt to bring about a substantial and long-lasting positive impact on her workplace, her colleagues, her community and herself. We’re so proud of Rebecca being recognised by @festival_learn. #SercoAndProud

HMP Dovegate was contacted by Our Lady Of Lourdes Church requesting our help to prepare the grounds of the church. Our staff worked tirelessly for two days to prepare the grounds ready for the pilgrimage in early July. #SercoAndProud

Staff at HMP Dovegate entered the annual @_alicecharity It’s a Knockout event (in fancy dress of course!). We are proud to continually work with and support this great charity and one of our teams came second in the incredible event which more importantly, raised over £6,000!

Our staff stepped up and undertook the DIY SOS challenge when the @_alicecharity reached out for assistance in housing a family in the UK who fled their country when they suffered extreme abuse. The family are over the moon with what was achieved and we wish them a happy future!

We are delighted to be running Family Days from 1000-1500hrs on Monday 31 July, Tuesday 1, Wednesday 2, Thursday 3 and Friday 4 August. They will be themed around SUMMER with activities for everyone. Keeping prisoners in touch with their families is important. #SercoAndProud

We are delighted to share that the first @3pillarsproject 8 weeks course at HMP Dovegate was a success! Prisoners who completed the course gained a Level 1 Community Sports Leaders Award and to recognise their success, a celebration event was held. #SercoandProud

Prisoners and staff celebrated Pride 2023, attending a successful event with attractions to entertain everyone. We were delighted that Serco's new Managing Director judged the competition including the art work, bake off, music and much more. #SercoandProud

Research shows that prisoners who maintain family ties are up to 6 times less likely to reoffend. Our Family Support Team offers multiple interventions for prisoners such as Family & Friends Sessions, Toddler Mornings, Grandparents Sessions and Teens Sessions. #SercoAndProud

Brave staff at HMP Dovegate took their lives into their hands and abseiled 70ft off Millers Bridge in Derbyshire, many conquering their fears of heights to raise money for @DementiaUK. The hardy team raised a magnificent amount of over £800. #SercoAndProud
