November is here and so is the cold weather in Heidelberg. Small creatures are hiding under a blanket of autumn leaves, as might be this Flower Scarab. Though it’s rather uncommon to spot one this late in the year, with its shiny carapace it's a real jewel in the HITS garden.

Spooky spiders are up to mischief at HITS. Did you know that it’s considered good luck to see a spider on Halloween? Well, maybe you want to go outside and look for one, as there's nothing like a nice breath of fresh scare! Have a spooktacular night. Happy Halloween from HITS!

Yesterday, we hosted a group of enthusiastic young women at HITS from the Zukunfts-Orientierungs-Akademie (ZOrA) Heidelberg. The girls listened to scientific talks by our HITSters and had the chance to chat with them afterwards in a relaxed environment. What a great initiative!👍
