Holmes asks for general feedback on teachers’ view on our calendar. Gardner (HR) says the calendar is a selling point, due to time off and work-life balance. Says benefits have also been a selling point. Agrees with Sitton that 90% retention is a challenging goal.

Sitton said 14% turnover has been historically average for the district. Says 90% goal seems aggressive.

Grabowski says he’s concerned by experienced teachers leaving and being replaced with newer teachers. Retention rate was an opportunity for the district. There was a goal of 90% retention and the actual was 86%.
