Thread on US war in Palestine: The US does not want to end the war, nor does it see in a permanent ceasefire a solution to the ongoing slaughter in Gaza. The operative theory that the US is more dovish then Israel on Hamas is simply not accurate:

It is as if a metaphoric fire engulfs us. Cynically, and perhaps also pessimistically, I find solace in the knowledge that Gaza is only the beginning and that the months and years to come will see the massacres expand across Palestine.

When I first learned that my very sight on the beach that once beamed with Palestinian life on the shores of Jaffa was enough to arouse revulsion and for the police to come and kick me and my father. No Arabs here, or at least no arabs with your particular ID can be here.

Second, it waited to see Palestinian responses to conjure up its own response. It did not commit to any mediated resolution accept when Palestinians showed that they are willing to commit.

Third, it employed dual tracks and attempted to see whether within the same camp there are others who might be more pragmatic, or more willing to tow its line among the Palestinians.

think western academic institutions are liberal beacons for thought, scholarship, debate and teaching. More tragically this is occurring over what seems to be one of central exceptions for any debate, Palestine. Solidarity with the students at Columbia

Resistance fights so economic well-being is not contingent on your "Erez." The 100s of billions you send to support the slaughter of Palestinians could have been used to eradicate poverty, provide health insurance, and end homelessness in the US. So pls dont give us a lectures.

I went to Erez and saw the 2.5 mile Hamas tunnel near the crossing; Hezbollah would be envious. The amounts of cement, steel, metal, wiring, pipes, wood, boggle the mind. All this could have been used above ground to build impoverished Gaza. But Hamas cares little for its public.

They have been throwing smears at us for a century, and dismembering the truth over and over. Columbia students are facing the same barrage of ideological smears, thrown at them to scare the young from the truths they have come to recognize.

Fourth, It always said, "Yes, but..", In most instances the buts made the whole proposed agreements mute. It always remained the importance of not allowing itself to say an outright no.

The culture of the university never allowed it; the fear of introducing oppressive mechanisms from outside the university prevented it. The university always chose to negotiate with the students. But ironically, in our self-orientalization, many Palestinians

We will not need to bear witness then, I say to myself, and I tell my friends, in our case, it will be a massacre without the battle.

It might be perverse, but these are the term of the world I was thrown to, a walking and talking middle finger. On the comment section someone wrote that when he sees the Palestinian flag he feels 'irritated'. Oh Dear, this is exactly and precisely the point.

Abdaljawad Omar writes about what it means as a Palestinian to be "inescapably marked from the moment we enter this world" as the target of Israeli snipers and modern warfare machinery. Also: What is the sniper's "kinship" with his target? @HHamayel2
