The joy of a fanzine is in its physical, tangible, three-dollar-valuable existence. Turning it into a website or a twitter account would take away from that magic. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to publicize it a bit!

https://t.co/SAkPLOa4ye It’s not quite as seamless as carrying over the old handle, but I don’t think “Denton1882” is too hard to figure out. ; )

Upon rewatching the CPL final, one thing really stands out: That game was twenty times more entertaining than Ottawa vs Forge in the semi-final. Those two teams deserved to be there, and they really do bring out the quality in each other.

Of course, if the cheques don’t bounce and they’re willing to stick it out, I’ll welcome an expansion team anywhere in Canada. There really aren’t any bad answers here.

So, how would I rank this list? Going from "where I’d most like to see a CPL team" to "Okay, I guess": 1. Quebec City 2. Saskatoon 3. Edmonton 4. Laval 5. KW 6. Kelowna 7. Windsor 8-9. "Several" in the GTA

This article presents an opportunity to appreciate the *other* field of competition. CSL, CPSL, NASL, USL — the CPL has outlasted some of these Canadian projects already, and is still growing. It’s something to be proud of!

And… well, Callegari, Nimick, Fernandez, and Fillion are all set to depart via contract expiry. If that happens, we’re going to need some *good* talent scouting just to get back to our 2024 level, let alone improve! Watson’s got a tough job ahead of him.

This is great. The Wanderers have no League 1, no training facility, and no stadium, and they’re trying to build all of those things while improving the team. Expertise like Mark’s will be well worth it, and it’ll give Matt and Derek a chance to tend to other fires now.

This was literally the last clue I finished in today’s NYT Crossword, and even then only by completing the crosses. I feel like a bad Canadian for not getting it sooner, but a good Canadian for being properly irked once I saw it.

Let’s see… the scarf from the Canadian Championship game against not-the-Impact! The Island Games photo album! My ticket to see Halifax play Guelph United! And an FC Edmonton programme featuring Gabriel Bitar. Despite all the losses, it’s good to hold on to those memories.

Time to fill up the trunk with soccer memorabilia. Man… game day ticket for Electric City’s season opener. That’s a collector’s item, all right.

As I’ve often said, this is the hidden most important stat in the league. Average attendance of 3,971, three teams now over the average of 5k per game, Vancouver showing growth (inc. Kelowna), and York getting better. Onwards to next year!

As a side note: I kind of like how Burnbrae is sponsoring @CPLsoccer’s “Eggstra Time”. That’s a good sponsorship, and way more appropriate for our league than, say, photographing upside-down models wearing club jerseys.

It’s safe to say none of us had today circled as the end of the season, but it is We had joy this year, but it’s hard to ignore the lows - they hurt, and will define 2024 My appreciation and love for every player remains strong, and today will be sad as we say goodbye to some
