Another conclusion to a great year! We had a great time celebrating some of our WORK Program seniors today. We are really going to miss this crew. Best of luck to each of you as we are so proud of you….yes, even you Isaac!

Last week our WORK Program students took a tour of the FBI CJIS Division. On the tour, students learned about different career options within the FBI. Special thanks to Megan Root for helping us organize the tour.

Had 5 speakers today from the FBI speaking to both AM & PM students. They spoke about different careers in the FBI locally in Clarksburg, WV and all over the world. They also presented on the Biometrics division: Facial Recognition, Fingerprinting, and Iris Identification.

Had a great time today at the Edge of Town Farm. Our students picked and loaded 7 large bins full of pumpkins. As a reward they got to go through the corn maze.

Our guest speaker today was Lt. Pruitt. He shared career options in law enforcement. One quote that stuck out “Your past mistakes don’t define who you are or who you’ll become. Everyone makes mistakes, if you repeat the same mistake, it isn’t a mistake it’s a habit.”

Students working together to unpack and sort food for the Backpack Program. Our students assemble 80 food bags to go home with local elementary students each week for the weekend.

Thank you to Candace, manager of Michael’s in Clarksburg, for giving WORK students a wonderful tour of the store & sharing with us information about the jobs within the store. Candace also went into detail about the qualities she looks for when interviewing applicants.

Over the next few weeks, we will be giving our businesses plaques thanking them for support this school year. Plaques were made in collaboration with Harrison County Academy of Aviation Technology, which is located at Bridgeport High School.
