This is why I do what I do. I talk to ex-school staff who loved their jobs, were totally committed to it, and are gutted because they couldn't manage symptoms of #menopause and #perimenopause such as menstrual flooding and brain fog in school and left. Let's stop that happening.

I'm still around during the summer break. I'll be working on a menopause art project, making a fancy dress for my 60th birthday party, and running round after mechanical elephants - but I'm happy to take calls. And if you'd prefer to think about

Six weeks sounds like a long time, but it can take a good few weeks to change pace, to prioritise ourselves and to get the rest we need. But what is the rest we need. It's not doing nothing. And it's not carrying on regardless either. How do we figure out what it is we need to

Is this peak prudery? My spell check doesn't like the word 'breast'. I can talk about breastfeeding without it changing the word to something else. But not about breast pain, or breast cancer or, as in this particular case, the paint colour on my chimney breast!. Most of us have

So much gets stuffed into this summer break. And a lot of it is about other people, spending time with them, catching up with them, and making sure they're ok. But get some me time. It gets squeezed out in term time and it gets squeezed out in holiday time. It's more crucial

A reminder of the different services I offer and how much it costs. If you're too busy enjoying your summer break to think about this right now, type "Yes" in the replies and I'll reach out to you in September. I help schools support their staff through perimenopause and

Wouldn't it be great if we could cook everything from scratch from fresh ingredients? But I think we have to acknowledge that sometimes we need a short cut!. This app is a great way of checking the contents of your trolley - or the supermarket shelves - to see how healthy

Snowdrop the Mechanical Elephant is going to Chichester! It looks very much like we're going to be on The Repair Shop. They're sending a lorry to pick her up next week and take her to The Barn for inspection. Then they'll be in touch to get my Dad and I down there for filming!

I expect you've been pushing through fatigue for a while now. Battling against it to keep on going. What if there's another way. A kinder way?. #Edutwitter #WomenEd.

Congratulations on making it to the end of term. Well done for all the good work you've done. Thank you for rocking up every day even when it was tough. You deserve this break. I'll be slowing down but I won't be taking a complete break - so if you want to reach out and start

The school term is nearly over. Next term there will still be staff dealing with perimenopause or menopause symptoms. There might even be a few more. It doesn't go away. Experiencing your menopause in a school environment is tough. 🥵Brain fog.🥵Memory lapses.🥵Mood swings

You know that thing? You're in full flow. You've said it all a million times before. Everything's stacked up in your head like cards in a deck, ready to come out of your mouth, and then it doesn't. You've forgotten what you were going to say. You've forgotten what you just said.

Today, I want to thank the blokes!. On a personal level that's my boyfriend and my brother who have been so understanding and supportive when perimenopause and menopause have thrown up challenges. I'd also like to thank all the male heads who realise there's a problem and invite

This is good news! Although the fact that it's been approved by MHRA doesn't mean it's available in the NHS. For that we're waiting for a judgement by NICE. That's about the money as much as it is about safety and effectiveness. Sadly they've already knocked back Fezolinetant.

Sometimes people think that opening up a conversation about menopause in a school is opening a can of worms. That suddenly they'll be overwhelmed by people getting in a tizz about it. That's not how it works. It's more like putting in a pressure valve on a situation that could
