Gerry was such a good person. It was an honor to serve with him and call him friend. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a kind smile. He was a true public servant. He will be greatly missed. RIP Congressman.

Many of the spewed hatred was claiming that what I relayed in my post was a lie. FWIW, I have known President Biden since he served with my Dad in the US Senate. He was the first person to call me when I won my Congressional seat. I would never lie in a tweet or anywhere else.

I stopped using this platform much because the extremes on both side of the vast political divide appear to have taken over. My post about President Biden’s cancer diagnosis confirmed my belief. Are these bots? Or real people who are consumed by so much hatred? Really sad.

When I told President @JoeBiden that my husband Steve had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, he immediately replied, “What can I do to help?” That is the person he is - kind, decent, caring. So sad to hear that he is now battling the same cancer. Sending my love and prayers.

I respect anyone in a position that affects people’s lives who leads with caring and helping those he or she serves. It appears that the new Pope is that type of leader. I truly hope so for our country and world.
