Lots of Broad-leaved Helleborine in woodland near Tandragee Co. Armagh today, including one lacking chlorophyll. I learned last year this variant is now known as var. monotropoides. There were two but one was eaten back to the stem. @ukorchids @BSBI_Ireland

Fragrant Orchid (subsp. conopsea I think). Thought I'd have to go out west to see these beauties but found them on a little scrap of grassed over quarry spoil in north Armagh -almost read to pop. Delighted!

First ever @BSBIbotany #NewYearPlantHunt this morning. Nine plants in flower incl. Common Whitlowgrass and Lesser Celandine. The earliest I've ever recorded LC in flower and a nice way to kick off the new year.

Twitter world, could this possibly be Silky Pinkgill Entoloma sericeum var.sericeum or am I barking up the wrong mycological tree? Found along a grassy pathway in bog woodland. Brackagh Co. Armagh.

Lots of huge Parasols Macrolepiota procera on a hillside near Tandragee Co. Armagh. This is open pasture land that's never tilled, artificially fertilised, or cropped for silage. The boundary hedges are cut occasionally but that's about it. A rarity in north Armagh.

Terracotta Hedgehog Hydnum rufescens in the deepest darkest recesses of Peatlands Pk Co. Armagh. First time finding this one. There were good numbers so I turned one over for a closer look. Picked up a Tick for my trouble.
