As we describe in the book, there are plenty of historical precedents, the concept is scalable, and it’s achievable now. We believe that our proposed "carbon banks" could move carbon from priced to priceless, finally taking it off the market and protecting it.

Seeing currency as a powerful tool for collective action, we argue that dovetailing developments in digital money (NOT crypto!) and carbon capture have opened up a hopeful new pathway for a intervention in the climate battle.

What if carbon, rather than loom as waste in our skies, could be “drawn down” to the earth by millions of currency users, much as the gold standard led people to draw gold up from the ground?.

Is this trajectory the inverse of what happened w eradication of debtors’ prisons? We used to punish the person AS debtor, now we (in theory) only “punish” the debt itself (with penalties, enforced payments, etc).
