In Sweden, KAJ just broke the 1-day Spotify streaming record for a #Melfest song, with 807,823 national streams on the day after the final. Frans' 680,000 from 2016 (as reported by the podcast Schlagerfesten) stood as the gold standard for 9 years.

The last time Sweden chose to sing in Swedish in #Eurovision was in 1963! All of our later occasions have been under the old language rule. Since we last sang in Swedish in '98, we have become the longest running country in #Eurovision not to sing in their own language. #Melfest.
KAJ is the 1st #Melfest winner to be performed in Swedish since Carola won with "Evighet" (2006). "Evighet" was changed to "Invincible" in #Eurovision, but KAJ has stated that they intend to keep their Swedish lyrics (with some Finnish) in Basel. Last 🇸🇪 had Swedish was in '98.
