Gusser Update: I got the sutures out on Thursday. I figured out walking just fine. Still working on a few things, but overall going great. This was my first real walk outside of the house. Didn’t go very far, but it went well. #goldenretriever #tripod

Making big strides. I even went up a couples steps unassisted today.

Still a happy Gusser. He has made big improvements today on walking independently on 3 legs. We appreciate all the kind comments we have received over the last few weeks. He can definitely feel the love.

Outside motoring around on my own power

The SecuriGus is back to guard duty on a part time basis. He is recovering well, but will need help with mobility for a while. We are so glad to have him home!

Gusser is coming home!

Gus is in good spirits, but he didn’t get to come home today. They wanted to keep him for another day to work on his mobility. I was so happy to be able to visit with him today. Hopefully tomorrow we can bring him home.

The surgery went well today, they said his tail is wagging. He has taken a few steps, I’m sure that will take a while to adapt to the missing leg. I should be able to pick him up tomorrow afternoon. We are so excited to see him, we miss him. Thank you all for showing so much.

I dropped Gus off yesterday for his big surgery. It will take place this afternoon. They called me this morning and said he had a good night. Thank you so much for all the well wishes we have already received. I had some more testing done to verify the tumors haven’t spread from

A wild Gusser in his natural habitat. We have wanted to do as much summer stuff that we could before his amputation next week. He has always loved swimming and retrieving in the water. I’m sure he will be able to swim in the future, but probably not this summer. Thank you all

Thank you so much for all the support we have received since posting last night. We scheduled the surgery for July 29th, unless something sooner becomes available. We can feel the love you all have for our boy.
