Game 17 & 18 at Vale Park, firstly a 2-1 win over a Swindon Town side who were struggling at the start of the season and then a 1-1 draw with Colchester United. A late Colchester equaliser saw Vales struggles at home on a Tuesday night continue

Game 16: 2nd time watching Telford Town in the space of a week, this time at their School Grove ground against Stourport Swifts Development. They showed their class with a incredible 8-1 victory, the most goals I would see all season

Game 15 and a trip to Bilston's Queen Street Ground who ground share with Warstones Wanderers. Telford Town were the heavy favourites but a 1st half red card made this game a lot closer then expected

Game 14 and a return to Vale Park to see us take on newly promoted Chesterfield. A Darren Moore classic 1-0 win followed. Chesterfield would end the season in the Play off places

Game 13: temperatures dropped at the Barton Stadium as Northwich Victoria and Stone Old Alleynians played out a score draw. A nasty facial injury to one of Stone's players saw him go off to hospital with blood pouring

@VertuTrophy Game 12: a fantastic day out in South Wales as Vale beat 9 man Newport County 4-1 at Rodney Parade. A new Football League ground for me and a bizarre red card for Newport's Kyle Jameson, who was shown a 2nd yellow for kicking the ball into the Vale fans

Game 11 was my first game in the @VertuTrophy with a 2-2 draw against a young Wolves u21 side. Vale would go on to win a bonus point thanks to a penalty shootout win.

@smivadee Game 10 was a battle between the eventual top 2 of league 2 this season with Doncaster winning a great game 3-2. Doncaster would go onto win the league in April.

Game 9 was probably the dullest game of the season as Vale's first home match of the season was a dull 0-0 draw against Tranmere Rovers. @smivadee was filming a great On the Road episode a few rows behind me

Game 8 was my first new EFL ground this season as we went to Holker Street to watch Barrow beat Vale 3-2 in the 1st round of the Carabao Cup. Vale played a rotated side as we bowed out in the 1st round of the competition.

Game 6 was my first competitive game in England at Foley Meir. Both of these North West Counties League Division One South sides (10 tiers down from the premier league) would end the season in the relegation zone. Foley ended this game as 3-1 winners.

Game 5 saw a return to Vale Park 4 days later for their 2nd, and final, home pre season friendly against Bolton Wanderers. The league 1 side showed their quality and ran out comfortable 3-0 winners.

Game 4 saw my first trip to Vale Park of the season as we took on a Luton Town XI that included former England international Andros Townsend - who scored a cracking free kick. The Vale ran ran out 3-1 winners against the Championship side.

Game 3 saw the possibility of silverware coming back to Vale Park as they took part in the Bass Charity Vase against Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium. In the end Darren Moore's side were well beaten by League One opposition with the Vase staying in Burton. BAFC 2-0 PVFC

Game 2 was definitely the most unique game of the season, my 100th ground visited and my 1st game outside of the English football pyramid as I visited Wrexham based Queens Park FC. The North East Wales Premier Division currently sits in the 4th tier of the Welsh football pyramid.

Game 1 of this season was the traditional pre season friendly between Newcastle Town and Port Vale at the Lyme Valley Stadium. It is always an interesting stadium to visit with its cycling velodrome surrounding the pitch. A good run out for Vales new signings NTFC 1-3 PVFC
