PhD thesis submitted, that seems like a nice Christmas present for my defence committee! Quite unreal that this journey is almost finished now. .

Research combining ICAM-1, chemokines and filopodia?!? Check our newest paper about how CD44 controls ICAM-1 mobility, with implications for T cell adhesion to endothelial cells. Very nice to be able to join relatively late in this project by helping with the rebuttals.

That leads us to our model. We think that hotspots are mediated by heterogeneously expressed ICAM-1. This endothelial heterogeneity ensures that neutrophils adhere at hotspots, which in turn limit vascular leakage. 8/9
