Research combining ICAM-1, chemokines and filopodia?!? Check our newest paper about how CD44 controls ICAM-1 mobility, with implications for T cell adhesion to endothelial cells. Very nice to be able to join relatively late in this project by helping with the rebuttals.

Hey #ScienceTwitter, I am trying to learn more about local translation of mRNAs, and how this can be related to protein function. Does anyone have recommendations of literature about how specific subcellular mRNA localization is related to the function of the respective protein?.

That leads us to our model. We think that hotspots are mediated by heterogeneously expressed ICAM-1. This endothelial heterogeneity ensures that neutrophils adhere at hotspots, which in turn limit vascular leakage. 8/9
