Large White (Pieris brassicae) caterpillars on nasturtium in my back garden. I hadn't noticed any yellow eggs but I now learn the eggs turn black a few hours before hatching. However, I'm guessing the black "balls" here are caterpillar poop!

Honestly, I am blessed. As I type this in my back garden a hog is crunching on some cat biscuits not more than 8 feet away. Oh now a second!.

Me and the Darter (common) are sat listening to Spiers and Biden (Bold Sir Rylas) in the garden. She’s been perched up for more 2 hours now and definitely likes folk music.

In my urban garden and the Starlings have decided it’s time for chimney club. The evening gathering has begun.

Wasp Spider (Argiope bruennichi). First recorded in Rye in 1922 and now fairly widespread across the south and east of England. Despite this, this is the first I've seen for 4 years. August is the peak time for spotting them, as they like to chomp on a grasshopper.
