Feeling the summer heat? Solar screens can reduce solar heat gain, UV damage and glare. Install them as roller shades or fixed panels on either inside or out. Most typically allow light transmission and a view out. Similar to regular insect screens, these offer more efficiency.

By shifting energy-intensive activities (like washing clothes) to off-peak hours, you can save energy and reduce strain on the grid. Run major appliances such as dishwashers, ovens and dryers during off-peak hours when the demand for electricity is lower.
