When we were first hiring engineers for this team, quite a few of them wouldn't talk to us after we told them we weren't going to use Unity to build it. We built a team of crazy good engineers and I'm excited they're showing off what web tech can do in 3D.
Brian Did an amazing job at #GDC2025 talking about how we build Dojo Islands using web tech. We got a lot of questioning looks when we said we wanted to build a 3D game with web, but a few years in, things are looking great.

Software development without all the process?!?
blog.dundun.io
I'm currently developing software outside the software industry. No Scrum. No JIRA. No meetings. No sprints. No microservices. No Clean Architecture. No DDD, TDD or other acronyms. I just build the...

Issue trackers are still driving me bananas. Why don't they implement these simple features and help us all have way better focus and flow?
blog.dundun.io
I find it absolutely absurd that almost no issue trackers have implemented a few cheap but wildly effective tweaks that can vastly improve the teamās focus and so therefore improves the teamās flow.Ā ...

I'm going to build a new kind of ticket-tracker because all the other ones make me crazy: https://t.co/SoPitZFHug . It can't be that hard right? #agile #lean #kanban

Of the things that stick in my craw, the worst are tools and processes that enshrine the idea of a team as a bunch of solo developers in competition against each other to see who processes the most tickets in a fortnight. Worse if they call them "agile tools."

The usual workflow apps like trello and asana are driving me crazy for a number of reasons.Ā I'd love to hear if anyone feels the same and why. #agile #kanban #lean #shamelessmarketresearch

so far we have about 40 pages of debugging strategies and trying to organize them is a struggle :) here's a draft of the table of contents (though it's SO FAR from being done, note the "unsorted pages" section haha)

Here's a new estimation technique that I've been using that both sides of #noestimates can disagree on:

#tdd can sometimes feel like a hokey religion and ancient weapon these days. What if we only did it sometimes though? What are those extra-valuable scenarios?

What IDE are people using for #rustlang programming? Both VSCode and IntelliJ refuse to play niceš not recognizing imports, busted auto-complete... Any pointers for a better setup? (Tried both rust-analyzer, and default rust plugin for VSCode)
