Whether on the basketball court or the public arena, the Coach was a perennial all-star. Our city of Louisville loved Coach and he loved us back. May he rest in peace and continue to inspire us all. 2/2

The first thing Coach Crum said to me after I was elected was, “How can I help, Mayor?” That in a nutshell sums up this wonderful man who always thought of others before himself and knew that if he could be a vessel toward helping others then his due would come. 1/2

Our city lost a very good man today. Tom Wine was the epitome of integrity and genuine kindness. He lived a model life through his work in the justice system and nonprofits. He was an exemplary model for public service and humanity. My condolences to his family and many friends.

Tommy Elliott, my longtime friend of 40 years, was one of those bright lights lost today. My deepest condolences to his wife and lovely daughters - and to all of those hurt by this senseless violence. May our city wrap those impacted in compassion and love. 3/3

They were all working every day to make our city better, including two police officers among the brave first-responders rushing to the scene to help. Louisville & America deserve better than this. 2/3

My wife Alex and I are heartbroken for the victims, their loved ones, and our beloved Louisville as it experiences the sad continuation of gun carnage in America. Those killed and injured are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters and friends. 1/3

I have great hope for the city that our favorite son, Muhammad Ali, called the greatest in the world… hope that Louisville’s true greatness is yet to be realized. Because Louisville’s greatness is you, its people. From my family to yours, best wishes for a very Happy New Year!

With the progress that has been made in our city these past 12 years, I wanted an official LMG acknowledgment of the history of the Black Six, symbolizing the importance of the march toward justice. The work will never be over, but we must do our part to move forward every day.

Bourbonism requires 4 key ingredients: Bourbon; KY hospitality; distillery experiences; and tremendous local food. And we've experienced explosive growth since we coined that term. Today, we have 10 distillery experiences, representing $261M+ of investment. Cheers!

This morning I joined family & friends of Breonna Taylor, David McAtee & Tyler Gerth to unveil a new historical marker in Jefferson Square Park that memorializes their tragic deaths and the racial justice protests seen in more than 2,000 U.S. cities in 2020.
