It may be cold outside, but the learning, growing and imagations are heating up at MG this week as students create play doh cookies, invent new things with toilet paper rolls, practice their shapes, writing and more! (And of course climbing the snow mountains at recess!)

Maple Grove Elementary is warming feet and hearts! Students collected over 900 pairs of socks and wrote Messages of Hope for neighbors in need. Donations are heading to Street Angels and Hope House. We are incredibly proud of the empathy shown by our learners.

Our 7th graders wrapped up their Cupcake Wars project with incredible results! They researched, planned, and decorated, showcasing amazing creativity, unique flavors, and fantastic teamwork. A massive congratulations to our talented bakers!

Great historical roleplaying in AP Euro History! Ms. Wermund's Ss became Enlightenment figures for "Salon" debates on government & liberty. Using Swivl tech, we capture every student's contribution for personalized evaluation, maximizing learning from these in-depth discussions.

Our Civics students engaged in high-level learning last week! They heard from local & state leaders, incl. Supt. Elliott, Mayor Neitzke, Reps. Kirsch & Rodriguez, and Sens. Larson & Carpenter. Huge thanks to all officials for making this hands-on Civics assessment possible!

Celebrating Glenwood's Megan Dixon, 2026 WI Teacher of the Year, for presenting at Alverno College! Her talk on teacher leadership was impactful. Phenomenal turnout from SDGF: Supt, School Bd, staff, coaches, retired eds, & even former students showed up to support!

Former Maple Grove Elementary student and current Golden State Warriors starting guard, Brandin Podziemski, sent an autographed jersey to the school! Students wrote letters to Brandin, who attended MG until ~2014 and now plays with Steph Curry. We are so proud of our alumnus!
