Something for the vampire who’s not afraid of a pop of colour. This #Frockingfabulous Opera Cape is by the House of Worth, 1889.

Twisted like the emerald foil of a chocolate wrapper, the silk #charmeuse of this mid #1940s evening dress has been manipulated into a gathered bodice with the narrowest of spaghetti straps @AugustaAuction #fashionhistory

The late #1920s saw the House of #Lanvin offering variations on the theme of blue. Bright electric shades were in favour using fabrics and #embellishments that enhanced the lightning effect. Just what I need to perk me up this afternoon #staatlichemuseenzuberlin

Since I’m awake at 2am, let’s look at something stunning. The Countess Greffulhe wore this House of Worth tea gown to entertain her chums, and it's a #FrockingFabulous bobby dazzler! C.1897, via Palais Galliera.

There is nothing like a Dame 💅🏻 Made for Shirley Bassey by designer Douglas Darnell in the 60s, this ensemble epitomises Bassey’s glamourous ‘diva’ style. The regularity with which she wore it suggests it was one of her favourite outfits. Explore more: https://t.co/AIe9wXRwaG

In 2014 @museumatFIT staged an #exhibition about the #1930s called Elegance in an Age of Crisis featuring garments such as this Munchen #poolside ensemble. I wonder if there will be a similar show about clothing during the pandemic? #summerwardrobe
