On this snowy morning, it’s also our birthday! We opened at midnight OTD in 1913, welcoming over 150,000 excited New Yorkers to admire the Beaux-Arts architecture, marvel at a triumph of engineering and ingenuity, and, of course, catch a train. The rest, as they say, is history.
For the safety of yourself and others, please always wear a mask or face covering inside Grand Central. For extra warmth and comfort, we suggest cozy mittens.
🍸 Celebrating 110 Years of the Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant! When the Oyster Bar opened in 1913, oyster bars, stands, shacks, and cellars were an obsession in New York. NYC still loves our oysters, some things never change!
