As a traditional conservative, I’m really on a political island by myself. I find Trump morally bankrupt and have a difficult time supporting him, even when I agree with some of his views, and while I agree with a few Dem stances, I can’t see myself voting for them.

After 29 years in Greenwood, S.C., I’ll be moving to Asheville, N.C., at the end of August to live with my dad, who is 91, to help take care of him. He’s not in very good health. Asheville is my birthplace and where I went to college.

I have chronic insomnia. I go 5-6 days at least once a month with absolutely no sleep. Not a second. I’ve taken Ambien, Ativan, Gabapentin, magnesium, antihistamines, melatonin, valerian root, etc. I’ve done cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia.

I’ve covered Abbeville football since 1996, with last season’s state title win being the last, as I’m moving to Asheville, N.C., to care for my 91-year-old father, who is in poor health and is in need of assistance after my mom’s April death. It’s been an honor covering AHS.

Why when saying the word “black” when referring to a black person do many white people whisper the word like it’s dirty? Why when a black person is standing among a group of whites do whites identify the black person by saying, “He’s the black one?” Why not identify by clothing?.

Went to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure in Western North Carolina today. The damage from Helene is still very visible. It really tore up a beautiful place.

I’ve covered the SC Festival of Discovery BBQ & Blues Festival for the past seven years. I’ll be attending as a festival-goer this year, and I’m excited. No rushing around taking pics and getting quotes. I plan to sample a lot of ‘cue, fill my belly and listen to a lot of music.
