So privileged to have been able to conserve a group of objects by local Doncaster hero Charles Smith, including his George Cross. The medal was awarded to Smith for his heroism during a roof collapse at the Askern Colliery. #dglam

After conserving this earlier in the year, so nice to see this being studied and appreciated. Nice grant aided project and a great tribute to the soldiers of the 324 Battery, 94th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment. #conservation

These modern bronze deer had some unsightly flaking of the dried patination fluid used in manufacture. This was removed and new patination adding where necessary. Very happy with the results on these magnificent beasts. π #museums

Nice to see that my trusty tub of reclaimed screws/fittings saved the day again. This 'Shepards - Lightning' Victorian ice cream maker had loose fixtures at the top. All now repaired. What a cracking little object ! πππ #museums

This set of church handbells had issues with the leather, corrosion and dirt. The leather was repaired using a polyester backing material and acrylic adhesive. This was then treated with a lanolin/polymer leather oil. π #museums

Its always nice to see reserve collection objects being brought out for display. This child's boot (Barnsley Museums) needed re-shaping, cleaning, re-bonding of loose sections and leather treating with natural oils. πππ #museums

More objects for Rotherham MBC Museums & Galleries. This Wesleyan chapel pulpit required cleaning, structural repairs and reconstruction, in addition to a pesticide treatment. Allegedly used by John Wesley himself. π #museums
