Final CES on Salisbury Plain for the year gave an outstanding 242 birds processed. Another Nightjar, 2 Stonechat, 6 Whinchat, 2 Redstart, 3 Tree Pipit, 17 Grasshopper, 7 Reed, 28 Sedge, 11 Garden Warbler's, 19 Whitethroat & a massive 111 Blackcap #birdringing #migration

Bonus Salisbury Plain session this morning with limited nets. 124 birds processed: Whinchat, 2 Redstart, 2 Tree Pipit, Spotted Flycatcher, 9 Grasshopper, 3 Reed, 15 Sedge, 8 Garden, 4 Willow Warbler's. Blackcap's no's now taking off with 58 caught #birdringing #Migration

Solo effort on Salisbury Plain this morning. North breeze so very quiet but managed another 2 Nightjar's taking us to a record 11 for the Autumn. 2nd Firecrest in 2 days & control Grasshopper & Sedge Warbler. Also Whinchat & 5 Garden Warbler #birdringing

Salisbury Plain CES11 today. Below par 161 birds processed but serious quality with 4 Nightjar, Firecrest, Spotted Flycatcher, 5 Whinchat, Stonechat, 7 Grasshopper, 7 Reed, 23 Sedge, 5 Willow, 13 Garden Warbler's, 33 Blackcap, 31 Whitethroat. Amazing stuff #birdringing

Swindon garden moths today - new for me was Buttoned Snout, 2nd VC7 record & 1st for at least 10 years, 6 Toadflax Brocade which are increasing locally, 4 Gypsy & 6 Tree Lichen Beauty. Also good were Pebble Prominent & Broad-barred White #moths

Some nice moths from my Swindon VC7 garden today. Jersey Tiger has only recently reached our area, Lesser Cream Wave is scarce away from the south of the county. Leopard & Twin-spotted Wainscot good garden records #teammoth #MothsMatter #moths

A huge 158 birds on our Salisbury Plain CES site today with the catch largely made up of warblers - 3 Willow, 13 Garden, 8 Chiffchaff, 31 Blackcap, 25 Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat. Bonus Grasshopper Warbler caught while preparing the valley net for next time #birdringing

Another big moth morning in Swindon - 322 moths of 71 species. Common Lutestring, Green Silver Lines, Sycamore (new for garden), Brown Tail, Purple Clay & 2 Rush Veneer among the most interesting #mothsmatter
