It has been a privilege to serve the people of Illinois as Governor. I am so grateful for the opportunity. I pray the new administration will build on the challenges we met to conquer the challenges that remain. May our future be bright and may God bless our great state.

Challenges met – 2015-19. Got 1115 Medicaid waiver to transition to higher-value, higher-quality, more sustainable behavioral health ecosystem. Integrates delivery of behavioral and physical health for better outcomes for 3.2 million Illinoisans. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Launched College2Career tool to give students and parents easy access to outcomes data to help select IL colleges that best serves their needs. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Reduced the time to 45 days to move youth dually-involved in DCFS and juvenile justice systems from detention to home or home-like settings. It used to average 104 days. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Technology transformation. Nearly 90% of licensees (1.1 million) now apply and renew licenses online. Drastically reduced license processing times from an average 86 calendar days in January 2015 to about 39 calendar days in March 2018. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Appropriated $25M for new, merit-based aid program – AIM High – to encourage best and brightest high school graduates in the state to attend universities and community colleges in Illinois. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Champion for school choice. Implemented innovative tuition tax credit program, Invest in Kids, to help students from low socio-economic backgrounds obtain scholarships to attend the schools of their choice. 11,000+ scholarships. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. In corrections, implemented computer-based instruction and testing of High School Equivalency at all facilities in 2017. Number of offenders completing HSE increased by 90% in FY17. 2017 success rate on Test of Adult Basic Education was 94%, #1 in U.S.

Challenges met – 2015-19. Increased investment in Early Childhood Education by $50M in FY18. A total of $200M in new money for early childhood since 2015, and a total of $1.4B new dollars for K-12 since 2015. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Joined FirstNet to ensure public safety officials can make cellular phone calls, access critical information and transmit video during daily operations and during all types of emergencies by providing prioritized broadband network access. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Historic new funding formula for K-12 means billions more for education now and in the future. 96% of school districts have access to high speed internet, up from 71%. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Opened first life skills re-entry center to increase offender opportunities for success upon release. Part of an overall jobs program that helped reduce recidivism from near 50% to 39%. Creating workers, not repeat offenders. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Despite difficult tax and regulatory climate, since 2015 @IllinoisDCEO has supported the launch of 1,550 new small businesses, helped create 117,000+ jobs, and saw $7.6B in capital investment from companies receiving DCEO support. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. In the last four years, Illinois’ tourism generated $114.9 billion in overall revenues, $8 billion in state and local taxes, and increased the number of jobs by 18,600. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Boosted tourism to all-time record highs. Nearly 114 million people traveled to the state in 2017 to “Enjoy Illinois,” giving a $1.1 billion boost to the state’s economy. #IllinoisProud

Challenges met – 2015-19. Illinois Rapid Results program has trained 2,405 employees who led 1,381 improvement projects which have resulted in annualized savings of more than $14 million and the redeployment of nearly 800,000 labor hours! #IllinoisProud
