Our Youth Workers' contracts may have ended, but it was great catching up - sharing stories, future plans, hot dogs, and a kayak at Gladhouse Reservoir. Too short a time, but wishing Ryan and Marie all the best. They are the good ones, truly. Thanks for the solid practice.

The new BC2 class has been learning about the Scottish Government. This week, we visited the Scottish Parliament and even sat in on a live MSP debate! A fantastic way to bring classroom learning to life through real-world experience. šļø #LearningInAction #CfE #WeAreCapable

Still, the moment opened up a new possibility: volunteering with animals. Weāve been reaching out to people who understand how this kind of work can support wellbeing and purpose.

It might have just been a chance encounter with a very nice dog. And honestly, thatās also of value - and enough.

In trauma-informed practice, itās often these small, unscripted moments that spark the biggest shifts - regulation, relationship, and readiness to trust.

This week during Forest School, we had a chance encounter with a wee, scruffy terrier on the trail. For the young person weāre supporting through Outreach, it became a moment of quiet connection, laughter and calm.

After more bouncing and some honest, person-centred planning, he looked up and asked: āAre we locking this in?ā Absolutely we are locking this in. This is what getting it right looks like - meeting young people where they are, and letting them take the lead.

Today we held a young personās planning meeting at a trampoline park. We talk a lot about childrenās voice, but rarely change the conditions to truly centre it. This time, we bounced, talked, and watched him lead the planning conversation with confidence. He was exceptional.
