Fun fact. According to a call I just made, Glock won't cover a bulged barrel under warranty. As in, they won't repair it for the owner. You know who does cover bulged barrels under warranty? Taurus, Heritage, HiPoint, SW, H&K, CZ, Sig Sauer, and basically everyone else. Whatever.

Gun comes in on my day off. Marlin 336 with a locked open action. Removed lever and disassemble to find issue. Nothing notably obvious. As I reassembled it, I had the bolt in place, and needed it halfway open. Then I see it. A newly discovered 30-30 round is extracted. Nobody was

Finally happened. The illusive primary lodged in a gas key stoppage. Smiths can go a lifetime without seeing it. Especially when it's a ruger, and the solution is way more likely to be the fact that it's a ruger. Extraordinary.

Long time, and possibly one of my favorite customers dropped off his M&P Sport II and said "do whatever you would do to it to make it better". New trigger, handguard, gas block, stock, and optic. He already had the can, which he moves between this and his M24. He's like 75.

I work on loaded guns often, and I'm not overly uncomfortable about doing it. I know what I'm doing, and I know what not to let happen. Sometimes you crank that soldier boi, sometimes that soldier boi cranks you. Prepare accordingly. Don't get lazy, or it will fuck you.

Aware it was in the rifle. Not the customer, not the employee who signed it in, and not me. There was no sign of it, and with a locked action, it isn't possible to cycle to confirm. With no trigger blocking safety on this rifle, it payed to not be complacent.

Check your gas rings. Super cheap and easy to replace. Here's some new ones right next to the set that didn't pass the gravity test. Easy way to check them, set your BCG bolt down on a table. If the carrier drops, get new ones.

Guns I made/remade in school for my wife a few years ago. Something close to a matching pair. Both were, and are still pretty close to, mirror polished and blued. Both stock were made and finished for grades. Both are English/French walnut with some purple heart for accent.

My mentor used to say Gunsmithing doesn't start till 9pm. What he meant was, if you don't have to speak to anyone, you can plow through projects. In 3 hours I've swapped a suppressor mount, zeroed 2 guns, fit and staked a 1911 front sight, mounted two dots on handguns(1)

Guns are made up of blocks and spaces. Nether is more important than the other. Saying that the space doesn't affect the gun is ignorance. Thst particular build up was parcially blocking the firing pin. You seem ignorant and I don't respect you.

Buy Gen 2 pmags bois and gurls. They are about 10 bucks now, and I'd get them before they spike like gasoline. Don't need to get 200, but get enough to double your stock I'd say. This isn't meant to be fearful. This is just practical advice from someone who works in a shop.
