Alpha: Artificial Intelligence isn’t magic. It also isn’t new. AI is pattern-matching and been around since the 1950s. Modern AI runs on what are called Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). An ANN is a complex algorithm or depending on the topology of the network, it can be a

If you've ever had to train someone to takeover your job as you leave for a new one you will understand more about the challenges of AI taking over entire industries than any think piece ever could.

I guess privacy not as valuable as they thought.

The amount of people who value privacy is significantly less than the amount of people who have recently bid $ZEC.

If you work in crypto/Web3, you will be targeted by these campaigns. NEVER run .scpt, .pkg, .dmg, or Terminal commands sent by anyone. Zoom/Google Meet NEVER require “SDK updates.” Fake Zoom links are extremely common. Attackers will pressure you. Friends won't.

I kept stalling, pretending I didn’t know how to “run” the file. The attacker eventually snapped and told me to stop wasting his time. So, I asked him if I could share a screenshot and sent him a clear message via Pepe. He replied “haha” and deleted the entire chat.

If you run the malicious file, you lose everything: - Crypto wallets compromised - Permanent backdoor installed - Keylogger captures everything you type - Every password exposed They own your machine.

These attacks are well-documented and they appear to specifically target crypto employees, founders, and devs.

I downloaded the .scpt file but didn’t run it. The key here is the malware only executes if you double-click the script. As soon as I hesitated, the attacker started pressuring me to run it. I knew this mfer was trying to get me at this point and started my research.

Once I clicked the fugazi Zoom link, my browser opened to what looked like a real Zoom web-client, but everything looked off. My audio and video was disabled and a message appeared saying I needed to “update my Zoom SDK." I clicked "Update Now" and it downloaded a .scpt file.

The Zoom link's URL was fugazi. It started with ue05webzoom[dot]us/ Not the real Zoom domain. But because the meeting was about to start I didn't look carefully and clicked the link to join the meeting.

It started with a Telegram message. Pretty normal in crypto / Web3. They sent me a Calendly and I set the meet time. This is where things got weird. The Calendly invite had a Google Meet link, but the attacker sent a Zoom meeting invite via TG right before the meeting.

Today I got targeted by what looks like a DPRK (BlueNoroff/TraderTraitor) social-engineering malware attack. Here’s how it went down — and how you can avoid getting owned.

I just dodged a North Korean state-sponsored attack attempting to backdoor my computer and drain my wallets. The attack was sophisticated. Attackers are using stolen Telegram accounts to set up fake Zoom meetings and get victims to run malicious scripts. Will post thread soon.

How naive of an idea is it to think that human-level intelligence would be achieved by machines experiencing the world as second-order beings through the lens of human exhaust? The answer: very naive.

Meta losing Yann Lecun is a bigger signal than any of the OpenAI gossip. LLMs hit their peak long ago and the products reflect it.

A good practice is to recall that even the teams building the frontier AI models and systems have little understanding of how they work. This should help you realize that people speaking in absolutes on the internet about when AGI is coming should be ignored with vigor.

Consider the ramifications of this moment. The #1 exchange in the US just announced it will be launching ICOs to US retail. XRP has five ETF filings that are likely to go live this month. Fed turning dovish w/ Powell exit in Q1. It is another inflection point.
