I have created something out of cardboard that should never be made out of cardboard.

Today I ran Gigabit Ethernet through a series of Wago connectors and to my horror it just worked.

My tendency to grab interesting objects, fidget with them and then put them down in obscure, unfindable places is a great value add feature when I'm trying to assemble something.

One of my favorites is the python-can lib has an unexplained time.sleep(2) when you open a new slcan interface. I think it's a parameter you can adjust now, but it used to be a hard coded value. I was always curious why that driver took so long to start until I looked.

Turns out you can make your assembly 5x more rigid by simply tolerancing your parts better and assembling it correctly.

I also might have made a sign error and drove it off the rails at 40mph, but we do not talk about that because it survived with practically no damage.
