Here at Lorca Elementary in Avondale, and hundreds of other @ChiPubSchools elementary schools, 6th-8th grade students returned to their classrooms for the first time in nearly a year. Thank you to the parents, educators, and school staff making this safe return possible.

Public health data shows that when schools have strong mitigation practices in place — like the ones CPS and @ChiPublicHealth developed together — the risk of COVID spread is low, and often lower than the community at large.
