In this project we evaluated the status of all significant invertebrate pests, diseases, and weeds affecting almost all arable and horticulture crops grown in Northern Ireland relative to the wider UK.

A great day today assessing thrips and natural enemies on strawberry at @BellisBrothers . In this trial funded by the @FarmingConnect try-out-fund we are testing a novel method to control thrips in outdoor strawberry using natural enemies and companion plants. @ADAS_Hortic

An interesting aphid species spotted on redcurrant last weekend, currant blister aphid, Cryptomyzus ribis. While small, damage from this species is very obvious, with infestations leading to puckered red blisters on the surface of developing leaves.

Pleased to see the first ever flowers from Buddleja madagascarensis in my polytunnel this weekend!

The seasonally appropriate Kniphofia ‘Happy Halloween’ is among my favourite Kniphofia cultivars. A highly recommended addition to any garden!

I always have lots of plants growing on in pots, so to keep an eye on them I tend to make a pot display on my patio each Summer. This years display might be the best yet, with a pleasing mix of flowers and different foliage!
