Today is MajGen Ingrid Gjerde’s 🇳🇴 last day as Force Commander of the @UNPeacekeeping Operation in Cyprus👏 Joining as the 3rd female Commander in any UN Mission, her leadership & commitment have made a lasting impact🙌 We hope to see more female leaders in int'l operations🌍🇺🇳

Today, more than 60 peacekeepers took part in the summer military skills competition. The Mission's Force Commander, @GjerdeIngrid, awarded the winning team 🏆 & thanked all peacekeepers for #Serving4Peace in #Cyprus. This year, @UNPOL team also took part in the challenge. #A4P

Women are affected by war and are vital for successfully preventing and solving conflict. This week I participated in a roundtable discussion on Women, Peace and Security, hosted by the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development and the Norwegian embassy.
