It’s about damn time! Nike agree to run limited quantities of Mary Earps’ goalkeeper shirt.
It also includes goalkeeper shirts from the USA, France and the Netherlands.
Another lesson in why you don’t underestimate women’s sport.
Have little time for Prince William or Sunak. But its not about who they are, more what it shows. If it were Gareth Southgate’s team playing the Final here in Sydney, they’d be flying out in their numbers. That’s what the issue is.
A dark day for Spanish football. Not the first in a week where the exemplary talent of the nation’s women’s team should be at the forefront and being celebrated. Overshadowed once again by men in power who think they answer to no one. Feel for the players absolutely.
Unfortunately in this sport there has to be a winner and a loser.
Colombia, you have been incredible this tournament. The future is incredibly bright. Will remember the joy you brought to the pitch and the stands for a long time ❤️

Hats off to this Nigeria team. What a tournament they have had.
Penalties is the cruellest way to go out after such a dominant performance.
Heads high Super Falcons. 💚
The story is about Rubiales but if Jorge Vilda suddenly thinks he can wriggle himself out of it, he’s wrong, Rubiales has been his protection for far too long. What happens when that protection is no longer there?
Jonas Eidevall when asked by Alex Scott on what the celebrations will be like on the journey home: “Wild. Wilder for the staff than for the players I think. The players have international break but I do not.” 😂
I know China is a HUGE country but still find this stat absolutely mindblowing...
"China PR produced the highest audience for a single match anywhere in the world. 53.9 million viewers watched their match against England"

& retain their trophy.
The Netherlands gave it everything but the USA were just too strong for them in the end. Goals from Rapinoe & Lavelle.

If we are indeed saying goodbye to a legend what a career this woman has had.
Marta’s impact on this sport and Brazil has been quite simply immeasurable ❤️
Absolutely heartbreaking here. She knew what it was straight away. Stretcher is out and she is carried off the pitch. Wishing Keira the best recovery 💔

It was always going to be too easy for Rubiales just to resign. What he fails to understand is that in these words he continues to illustrate exactly the kind of person he is. Laying it bare for everyone to see and fully believes no one can or will stand in his way.
Rubiales speech - "did you really think I was going to resign over a peck" - is one of the most surreal moments in the history of football. Everything about this is quite mad and has brought immense shame upon Spanish football.
So bored of these phone-ins ft. some misogynistic so&so telling us why he doesn't rate the women's game. It's just dull!
If you don't want to watch it, don't. No one is forcing anyone. But there are quite literally millions who are interested. That's where the focus should be.
Tbh I thought it was too soon for expansion to 32 teams. Perhaps scarred by the 13-0 defeat of Thailand by the USA in 2019.
So happy to be being proved wrong in these early stages. The debutants/less experienced nations have been 1 of the stories of this tournament so far 🤩
It’s 03:30 am and I’m currently crying my eyes out watching videos of packed out fan parks, bars, on aeroplanes etc around the world cheering on the Matildas, England et al.
This sport ❤️
This press release is actually horrendous and utterly shameful.
At this point, RFEF are quite clearly not fit for purpose. Someone needs to step in and install institutional change.
Mary Earps, 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year!
An incredible story. An incredible person. An inspiration who has changed the face of goalkeeping.
We are so proud! 🩷 Here's to many more iconic moments.

💭 Emma Hayes had plenty to say about scheduling today.
The fact that she's said it after a comfortable victory is important. It's not an excuse but an issue.
Iwabuchi was just one of those supremely talented footballers who made it feel like an absolute privilege to watch her play in person. Feel very lucky that we got the chance to.
A broadcaster yesterday questioned why ITV were showing the Lionesses’ game vs the Republic of Ireland - a European qualifier no less - since the men’s Champions League was on.
The reason 👇
More people watched the Lionesses’ victory over the Republic of Ireland on ITV1 than the combined audience for Arsenal and Manchester City’s Champions League games last night.
England’s game watched by an average of 1,479,000 viewers while Arsenal’s was 617,000 and City 685,000.
Gonna put it out there that Sarina Wiegman’s decision to send Millie Bright up front at that moment in that quarter-final with that pressure was the best decision a manager has made this year. Spain had absolutely no idea what to do with her.
Remember this grin when a 24-year-old Mary Earps came on as a substitute against Switzerland to make her England debut in 2017.
She's come a helluva long way! 💪
NEWS 🗞️ | Jordan Nobbs has been called up to the Lionesses squad.
She replaces Fran Kirby who has had to withdraw due to the knee injury she picked up in the Continental Cup semi-final.
On Sunday, when England play Italy, we will hit 1,000 live games as GOTB. So who better to have a chat with than a player who made her debut and scored her first goal against the same team… Italy!

We talk about changing perceptions as such a macro thing. The interest in the Lionesses, the Arsenal sell-outs, the increased viewing figures. You realise it’s happening.
But what really makes it hit home to be honest are the conversations we have with those closest to us. Over…
Every team in the UWCL Group Stage deserves to be there. Yes big names have fallen (+ there are reasons for that) but it takes nothing away from those there now. Paris FC for example beat Arsenal + Wolfsburg and deserve the credit for that.
"Jorge Vilda’s sacking was a violation of natural justice. Most disturbing is that almost nobody has come to his defence, terrified they too might catch the eye of the mob. This isn’t only the age of woke; it's an age of moral cowardice" | ✍️
