It was always going to be too easy for Rubiales just to resign. What he fails to understand is that in these words he continues to illustrate exactly the kind of person he is. Laying it bare for everyone to see and fully believes no one can or will stand in his way.
Rubiales speech - "did you really think I was going to resign over a peck" - is one of the most surreal moments in the history of football. Everything about this is quite mad and has brought immense shame upon Spanish football.

More people watched the Lionesses’ victory over the Republic of Ireland on ITV1 than the combined audience for Arsenal and Manchester City’s Champions League games last night. England’s game watched by an average of 1,479,000 viewers while Arsenal’s was 617,000 and City 685,000.
