This week is Learning Disability Week. We know that learning disabilities come in all forms and we want Girlguiding to be a place where all women and girls feel welcome, supported, and know that they can do anything.

Our unofficial county mascot, affectionately known as 'Mary Moo', now takes pride of place at our residential centre, @JarmanCentre in Newmarket. Mary was designed and decorated for the 'Cows about Cambridge' trail in 2021, before retiring to the green pastures of the JC!

Newmarket Rainbows, Brownies and Guides met Queen Camilla when she visited Newmarket last week. Leader Tina even got to shake the Queen's hand whilst she spoke to our young members. What an amazing opportunity and experience!

26th Cambridge Guides showed off their skills for a Coronation Bake Off challenge! They also made fresh scones for an "Afternoon Tea" party to celebrate the King's coronation.

An evening in the sunshine with Chatteris District Rainbows 🌈 as they completed their @Girlguiding Unit Meeting Activity 'Rainbow Survey'. The Rainbows counted cars, vans, walkers, runners and even the odd bird flying overhead!

1st Orwell Brownies enjoyed learning about hedgehogs with a visit from a volunteer with the @SWCCHedgehogs finding out what happens to the poorly hedgehogs that are brought in. The visit helped the Brownies complete the @girlguiding_anglia @rspb 'Feel good in nature' challenge.

Dani Wykes from Cottenham District recently received a County Brooch (The Lily) presented by Netta. Many congratulations to Dani, and thank you for your commitment as a volunteer with us in @Girlguiding !

3rd Histon Guides had a fantastic weekend at Eaton Vale Activity Centre, camping jointly with Histon Scouts, Cubs and Beavers. Crate stacking, caving, archery, shooting, rafting, canoeing, tomahawk throwing, service and climbing were all on the agenda. #GirlsCanDoAnything

1st Soham Brownies visited the residents at Townsend Manor Care Home where they celebrated National Paper Airplane Day by making paper airplanes and having a flying competition. Leader Valerie told us "The Brownies so much enjoy visiting these lovely people!"
