Today, I’ve made one of the biggest decisions of my political life. After years as a @Conservatives Councillor, I've joined @reformparty_uk. Not a step I take lightly - but one I take for Solihull, for our communities, and for Britain’s future. 🧵My reasons 👇

Representing St Alphege is a privilege. Community safety is – and always will be – one of my top priorities. Together, by working with our police and supporting each other, we can keep St Alphege a safe and welcoming place to live. 🇬🇧

These Beat Surgeries are invaluable. They give residents a direct voice, provide reassurance, and strengthen the partnership between our community and the police. I’ll keep pressing for action to make sure concerns are acted upon.

But here’s the key point: 🚨 Our neighbourhood police need residents’ help. They can only build a full picture of what’s happening if we tell them. If you see or experience an issue, please call 101 to report it.

Our neighbourhood officers shared some practical advice: 🔒 Fit strong locks on sheds & outbuildings 💡 Improve outdoor lighting 👀 Report suspicious activity immediately Simple steps can help keep our homes & families safe.

We also discussed the recent spate of shed burglaries in St Alphege. Police confirmed this is already part of an active investigation. Reassurance was given that the team is working hard to address this issue.

On the Ramada Hotel — residents are worried about ongoing activity there. Our PC listened carefully and has committed to looking into the matters raised. It’s vital residents feel heard and that issues are taken seriously.

Today in Shirley we showed that Reform UK isn’t here to talk - we’re here to win. Solihull deserves leadership that listens and delivers. This is the beginning of a movement that will take the fight to the Conservatives and deliver for our borough.

Today, I am thrilled to publicly announce that I have joined Reform, a party that embodies the principled, and common-sense vision our country so desperately needs. @reformparty_uk #RUK25

This is a new beginning. I won’t spend my time just attacking the old parties - they show themselves up daily. I’ll focus on solutions, on communities, and on rebuilding trust. St Alphege & Solihull deserves better. Britain deserves Reform. 🇬🇧

I've left the Conservatives with no bitterness. I’m proud of the work I’ve done, the friendships I’ve made, and the good people still trying to serve. But I cannot drift in a Party that stands for so little.

On education & SEND, my passion is clear: 📚 Every child deserves the right support to thrive. 👩‍🏫 Teachers must be freed from red tape to focus on teaching. 🤝 Families must be partners, not obstacles, in the system. That’s what I’ll champion in Reform.

Reform is unafraid to confront the tough issues: 💷 Restoring economic confidence 🏥 Fixing broken public services 🚓 Making our streets safe again 🇬🇧 Putting Britain first - borders, sovereignty, and security This is the positive change our country needs.

In Reform I’ve found: ✅ People who believe in merit, hard work and honesty. ✅ Leaders focused on results, not rhetoric. ✅ A commitment to speak the truth - even when it’s uncomfortable. That’s the politics Britain needs.

That’s why I’m joining Reform UK. Reform is not about Left or Right — it’s about Right and Wrong. Practical solutions, not spin. Accountability, not excuses. Putting people before politics.

And on education - an issue close to my heart - their failure is stark. Parents, children and teachers are crying out for real change in how we support every child, especially those with SEND. Instead: delay, excuses, and bureaucracy.

Why I left the Conservatives: 1⃣ The Party has lost focus on community and accountability. 2⃣ Merit and principle have been replaced by factionalism. 3⃣ No long-term vision for Solihull or for Britain. Short-term politics, no lasting solutions.
