Spoke today on 🇺🇦Ukraine’s & 🇲🇩Moldova’s 🇪🇺 path. Both have made strong progress, advancing ambitious reforms in difficult circumstances. Their 🇪🇺accession targets are realistic if they continue to accelerate reforms. A merit-based #EUEnlargement is a win-win for all of Europe.

In today’s world, 🇪🇺 #EUEnlargement is a key investment in Europe’s safety, prosperity and stability. Each enlargement has made our Union stronger: driving growth, creating jobs and raising living standards for both existing and new members.

The Growth Plans for the Western Balkans, Moldova & Ukraine link reforms to financial assistance and gradual integration into the EU Single Market. Through initiatives such as joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), reforms deliver real benefits for citizens.

This year, it is time for concrete action: for our enlargement partners to deliver on reforms, and for the EU to prepare for a larger & stronger Union. 🇲🇪Montenegro, 🇦🇱Albania, 🇺🇦Ukraine and 🇲🇩Moldova show that delivery brings results. Key to keep focused on delivery!

Very happy with the progress made last week under Ukraine Investment Framework. 🇺🇦 The European Commission & 🇪🇺Member States endorsed new recovery programmes with 🇳🇴joining as a new partner. These investments will boost Ukraine’s infrastructure, energy resilience & economy.

Good exchange with @elisaspiropali today on Albania’s 🇪🇺 accession process. 🇦🇱 has made impressive progress on reforms & its Reform Agenda commitments. It needs to sustain this to reach its goal of closing negotiations by end 2027. Hard work, but 🇦🇱 has shown that it can do it.

The Berlin Process Summit gathered leaders to deepen cooperation with Western Balkans & boost security. We've helped reduce: 🔹Organised crime, thanks to 🇪🇺-backed operations 🔹Irregular border crossings via the Western Balkans, with a 47% drop so far in 2025 & 78% in 2024.

Congratulations to 🇲🇪Nikšić, set to become European Capital of Culture 2030! With its “open city” theme, Nikšić shows how culture can unite communities and inspire change. A great example of how the EU supports creativity and connection across Europe.

Commissioner @MartaKosEU will on 18 Nov host the first 🇪🇺Enlargement Forum to tackle the "how & when" of completing EU accession. That requires preparation & joint work by candidate countries & all institutions. We must ensure the Union is ready to move once conditions are met.
