@GAlexanderlucas @ProfFrancesca I don't actually think most of this is a matter for 'senior authorities' - that is usually a recipe for loud but meaningless, in any institution, and with the best of intentions; it's a matter for appropriate authorities at appropriate level being alert to it and taking action.

@FaiselSadiq @AudreySuffolk I don't know that we ever have a full answer to the roots of antisemitism, islamophobia or any other prejudice, unless it be the fallen human nature. There are of course some answers to the current toxic mix, but I fear a twitter answer might prove inadequate to the significance.

@quidamabo In my case the offender had nothing to do with the University, it has to be said (and the police have been very good).

@GeorgyKantor It’s so upsetting Georgy. I don’t carry my Jewishness openly, mainly due to using a married name. But I am Jewish by birth and ethnicity and I’m devastated.
