The only way to state that humanity hasn't had contact with any alien intelligence, is by marginalising and disregarding a vast body of Indigenous voices globally across time, from prehistory to present.

We have many interpretations of the characters and events in mythology and folklore. The convenient theme lately has been aliens. Prior to that they were simply of the "spiritual realm", and of course Theosophy, Thelema and pop culture have helped bridge these two seamlessly.
