The Geological Survey Ireland @Dept_ECC June County Geosite is Abbeyleix Bog, Co Laois @LaoisCouncil. The bog formed in marshy conditions around 7-10ka during the Quaternary. It's underlain by Lower Carboniferous limestone bedrock. County Geological Site of the Month
