The year is 2097. Tekken 55 is out. Joe Crush has been doing the same combo for 10 yrs and no one knows where he is. Speedkicks is still retired but streams the game every day. Prophet still hates Hwoarang. Tekken prestige god 12 rank is basically a Tekken 8 1st dan.
I’m sorry the actual game for Tekken doesn’t really start until you reach Tekken King or Tekken God, too many players I’ve fought that look like they would be a damn red rank or orange rank in Tekken 7. Especially the PSN players

I think I've found the development.line of logic for Tekken 8. Namco listens to fans and knows we want more movement but also want more interaction. They nerf BD and buff lateral movement. They realize the lateral movement may stop too much aggression so they add plus frames.
