We observed how nitrification is a prevalent metabolism in winter dominated by Nitrososphaeria and nitrite oxidizing bacteria. In summer different heterotrophic bacteria express a variety of machineries to use different nitrogen sources.

New paper alert!🚨Finally, we publish the research on the nitrogen cycle of a unique Arctic dataset. We have over 13 metagenomes and 7 metatranscriptomes (March- July 2014) from the Canadian Arctic. They show how the microbial community changes from winter to summer.
