My work is changing to ORBIS from @DedalusUKI for anaesthesia and I’m wondering if anybody who uses an EHR system to record regional anaesthesia has any advice about a good interface (easily auditable)? #RegionalAnaesthesia #RegionalAnesthesia

Looking to find a new home for these (quite old) medical textbooks rather than throw them away. Giving them away for free (but you'll need to cover postage). Please message me if you're interested. Also happy to donate them somewhere (feel free to give suggestions)!

Nope. Don’t care. You can’t make me retake my exams. If anyone is currently looking into other anatomy topics…please stop.

Lovely picture by @HanSaulo from the #rcoadips 🙏 . These are the two legends who waited to celebrate with me.. @axbpb and Isaac Gill. We even made the @RCoANews instagram page
I’ll be there tomorrow. 2 of my friends passed exams before me and delayed their Diplomates Day so we could celebrate together. Very much looking forward to seeing them

An alternative approach to streamline the #intubation over a bougie? See how the pre-loaded bougie technique simplifies the process due to a loop in the tracheal tube. This technique is particularly useful for clinicians who work alone. Video tip by @jducanto

Um…is there a real possibility of being able to move to the US to practice medicine without needing the USMLE or any US clinical training? I believe there is. I suspect many UK doctors will be very interested in this…
Here are the list of states that are going to allow IMGs to practice in the USA 🇺🇸 without any U.S. clinical training Check thread 🧵 below #match2025

I really would prefer this. Although at least the head-to-head does show their people skills (or lack therof) which wouldn’t come across in an interview.
I have to say a well constructed thirty minute head to head interview with Starmer and then another with Sunak would yield far more than this constrained but shouty debate

I consider myself brave because I will use milk from the staff fridge for my coffee without first checking with the sniff test.

A colleague has told me that whilst working as a fellow in the US, all anaesthetists were given written feedback cards at the end of every day with what went well, and learning points. They felt looked after and loved the feedback style.

First time I’ve ever won anything…for my paediatric in-situ simulation project …and I couldn’t receive it because I was post nights on Labour ward and by 4pm was a sleep-deprived delirious mess. Luckily my addled brain was ok to attend the morning and present the poster. #SEAUK

How does everyone else relax after a run of nights? I’ve got a very unique activity today. #freethebird

Has anyone had experience of VR training for regional anaesthesia? Does it exist as a training tool? Is it a daft idea? Presumably it’s very expensive It would be pretty awesome to have a headset, probe and needle and just keep practicing…

@Schreiberland A priest, an imam and a rabbit went to donate blood. “Brilliant, another universal donor!” said the nurse to the rabbit. “How do you know?” asked the rabbit. “Well, you’re clearly a Type O.”
