I enjoyed giving a paper on Iris Murdoch at Durham University. What was really special was that undergraduate students attended. They were terrific: It showed how wonderful humanities' undergraduates can be. Let's all work for humanities and Universities performing well.

This is indeed very sad. It bears upon the great work of the Iris Murdoch Archive and undermines the prospects of continental philosophy and much more. Education, and MPs should fight to preserve excellent academic research and teaching.
So very sad, where the Iris Murdoch Archives are housed and so much excellent work undertaken over decades.
