Delighted Zohran Mamdani will be New York City's new mayor. Last January, he was at 1%. A shift in consciousness that has been a long time coming. New Yorkers have sent a clear message to Trump this week. Mamdani is what I call an outlier. We need more of them in Irish politics.

Good to share this space with like-minded people. Ask yourself ahead of next Friday's elections what you want, and then look to who best offers that sense of duty to you. Don't listen to individuals who claim that a hard line approach benefits. It doesn't. Trust me on that one.

We have forgotten how to protect ourselves, and our personal interests in this forthcoming election. We are now in danger of allowing a small bunch of dangerous bullies to dictate to us how we should vote on issues that mean more to them than they do to us
